Data hall
The BioPharma Hub will also include an innovative data hall of the Institute of Computer Science of Masaryk University, which opens new perspectives for science and research at Masaryk University. More than 350 m2 of space houses 80 racks significantly expanding computing and storage capacities for MU and research activities in the fields of life sciences, big data or the involvement of artificial intelligence in science.
The hall is designed to a Tier III rating, ensuring high availability without the need for interruption of service, which is crucial for the demanding requirements of today's research.
The hall's power consumption is approximately 1 MW, which is provided by two independent power feeds - metering then allows efficient management of energy resources according to the latest trends, including the use of waste heat from data centre operations for heating.
Cooling of the hall is provided by liquid-cooled inter-rack units and a free-cooling system with refrigeration. This modern technology minimizes the energy consumption of cooling and provides optimal conditions for the storage and processing of sensitive biological data.
These and other technological features of the data hall contribute to making the BioPharma Hub not only a place for cutting-edge research, but also a safe haven for valuable data and information that pushes the frontiers of knowledge in biopharmaceutics and biomedicine.
